What is regional Wolfsburg?
A city built around motion — now built for life
Wolfsburg was founded in 1938 as Stadt des KdF-Wagens and grew with the Volkswagen factory. Today the region is far more than cars: half-timbered Fallersleben (first mentioned 942), historic Vorsfelde, baroque Wolfsburg Castle (Schloss Wolfsburg, 14th century), the green Aller valley and a dense network of science, football (VfL Wolfsburg) and culture.
Our mission: explain the region honestly — where to live, where to swim, where to work, where to eat currywurst at 2am after a match at Volkswagen Arena. We walk every district, test every bike path along the Aller, and talk to locals from Nordsteimke to Hattorf.

Is Wolfsburg only about Volkswagen?
No. VW employs ~60k, but the region has Ostfalia University, IT campuses, logistics on Mittellandkanal, healthcare and a huge cultural budget. 40% of residents work outside automotive.

Families: Nordsteimke, Hehlingen, Fallersleben — houses with gardens, schools. Singles & young pros: Stadtmitte, Steimker Gärten, Hellwinkel — walk to bars, Allerpark, station.
How is nature and swimming?
Excellent. Allersee (swim + SUP), Tankumsee 15 min, BadeLand pools, Drömling moors, Aller cycle route to Gifhorn. Greenest car city in Germany.

ICE direct: Berlin ~55-70 min, Hannover ~30 min, Braunschweig ~18 min. A39 + A2 for drivers. Bike + train combo is ideal inside the region.
